I can’t, with any real accuracy, pinpoint the date last August that I began sewing. I can only say that it was several weeks before Dragon”Con, since I made a skirt for the event. So I am going to count TODAY as my one-year sewing anniversary. Woot!
That’s right. I am a slacker, and have not sewn anything to post about since before I left on vacation. Shhhh.
Elizabeth and I had plans for each doing a nifty blog post about “the year in review” with some fun stats, in a fancy marketing-style analytics picture. But alas, I am too lazy for that at the moment. I will, however, try to provide some amusing statistics.
My Sewing Year-In-Review:
- 24.5 total garments created
- 3.5 Costumes – Fairy Skirt (this is the 0.5), Pirate, Steampunk, Project Breyna
- 12 pairs of pants
- 11 pairs of pajama pants
- 3 skirts
- 3 dresses
- 3 tops
- 3 linings attached
- 3 broken needles
- 5 bent needles
- 15 completed patterns
- 1 Liebster award
- 8 calls for advice from Mom
- 48 blog posts written
- 462 text messages to Elizabeth complaining about patterns
- 3,918,247 f-bombs dropped
Bad things always come in threes, right? Is that why three is such a prevalent number on the above list? Hmmmmm … It’s not very impressive when I think about it like that. But I guess I have a day job to limit my sewing time. I had delusions of grandeur thinking about this list of stats a month or two ago. I thought to myself (and to Elizabeth), It would be super cool to keep track of how many yards of fabric I used / bought / cut, how much thread, how many yards of trim, how many zippers, how much money I spent, etc. But since I didn’t think of that until two months ago, that info is nonexistent. Maybe next year, if I can remember to track all the numbers for my projects from here on. Ah, Excel spreadsheets …
I hope your year of sewing was just as fulfilling as mine was! I look forward to a new year of many more fun and exciting projects 🙂
Cheers!
That f-bomb stat seems about right. Happy Sewiversary, bud!
Thanks 🙂 You too! When are you doing your post? I think next year I’ll try to have a fancy analytics image.
12 pairs of pants??? I have yet to make a pair of pants that doesn’t either split me in half or make Romeo jealous and you have made 12 pairs….wow! I was already impressed with you, now I’m twinging it with cat-like disgust! Hapy Bloggiversary!
Haha thanks. Only 1 pair was remotely “real” … the ones for my Steampunk costume. The rest were PJs! I did like the pattern for the non PJ pants though, I might someday make it again.
