Now that DragonCon is over for 2012, I have felt my urge to sew dwindle a bit.
Sure, I have a couple of projects on my horizon, one is even imminent.
I have to hem my bridesmaid dress for my sister’s wedding at the end of the month. No big deal, should be able to do that sometime this weekend without much fuss.
The other project is sewing a Freddy Krueger sweater for a friend’s daughter’s Halloween costume. This friend is the one who made me the uberly epic staff of Benediction that I carried around at DragonCon for Project Breyna, so I am happy to oblige. I measured his daughter last weekend, and have ordered some fabric. I couldn’t find a fabric with proper stripes, so I will be sewing the stripes together before putting the sweater together. I am going pattern-less, though it should be easy to make a tissue paper pattern as I go.
At the moment, I don’t have lots of sewing plans. There are still things I could cut. Even pirate printed knit for pajamas … I was gonna make those for pirate day, but I’m fairly certain that’s not gonna happen.
Part of my sewing apathy has to do with a new game acquisition – Guild Wars 2. My MMORPG habits have slowly been dying over the past year to year and a half. But this one has no monthly fee (though admittedly so many of them are going to this free-to-play model now). If it remains as much fun as it has been for the first 25 levels, it might continue to eat into my sewing time – so much so that I don’t see myself bothering with the upcoming Mists of Pandaria, as I grow increasingly less prone to support Blizzard’s slower-than-molasses coding habits.
Anyway, that’s it from me for now. Expect less frequent posts for the next few weeks as I build up my sewing energy again 🙂 Cheers!
